Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), we unite in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known. ("Who We Are" https://ywam.org/about-us)

The YWAM Osaka Asian Center was established in Osaka by missionaries (Jung Hwan Kim “Umi sensei”) from YWAM Korea in 1989. The name Asian Center was entitled to pursue the vision of Japanese and Koreans to deliver the Good News of reconciliation to Japan and to the world. The community is continually aiming to be an international connection center for those who have a heart to serve in Japan. YWAM Osaka Asian Center is part of the YWAM international movement and has gathered to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the "Japan of today" and "world evangelization of tomorrow."

Our focus is to reach out to the urban youth of Osaka city through creative and various ministries such as evangelism, contemporary praise & worship, alternative school, English learning programs, music ministries, meal support for the homeless, and translation/publishing. YWAM Osaka Asian Center serves with Blessing Church International and other Christian organizations to expand the mission culture in Japan.
Encounter Japan DTS
Encounter Japan DTS is a six month program blending classroom learning, small group activities, personal reflection, practical service, and community living. DTS seeks to bring you into a more intimate relationship with God. It also aims to provide you an opportunity to discover your passion and your part in God's purpose for the world.
Encounter Japan DTS hopes to be a bridge for those who have a heart for Japan! Students will be able to study the language and culture, learn about the history, participate and support local ministries, experience Osaka's amazing food culture, and more!

Encounter Japan DTS consists of two parts: lecture and outreach phase.
The lecture phase is focused on knowing God more and experiencing His heart towards us and the world. You'll not only learn from lectures but also through community living and practical training. The outreach phase focuses on applying what you have learned during the lecture phase by serving God and others out in the world.
